Noritake 1908 Japanese porcelain heart leaf shape small nuts or sweets serving dish, perfect condition, no chips, cracks, crazing or wear.
The backstamp is the “Komaru" symbol, said to be taken from the Japanese character meaning "overcoming difficulties"; this is crowned with "Noritake" and below is marked with the words "Made In Japan".
According to Noritake company tradition this mark was designed when meetings with the west early in the 20th century caused some cultural issues. The mark is also known as the "tree crest mark" – the clan crest of the Morimura family. It was registered in London for the UK market in 1908, which confidently dates this piece to that year as the curled up ends of the Komaru symbol distinguish this mark from all later versions.

With this in mind, it’s worth noting that international postage from Australia can be expensive. Postage is calculated based on the cubic size and weight of the parcel as well as what it takes to send your item with care. As an example, the cost of sending a 1kg, well padded parcel measuring 30cm x 30cm to New York in the United States is $42.55 Australian dollars. This is not a price we have made up... it’s what it costs to get something of these proportions out of this country and into the USA. That said, we will save you money wherever and however we can!
